Two of the richest men in the U.S. have made an impact on the sports world. Ted Turner forged new ground in television by buying the Atlanta Braves in the 1970s and using them as programming for his cable TV “superstation.” The Braves went on to appear in the World Series five times in the 1990s. Arte Moreno built a huge TV empire in Mexico before buying the Angels, then inserted Los Angeles in the name for marketing purposes. The Angels have won several AL West titles since, although they have not appeared in the World Series in his reign. Let’s hear it about these guys.
